Take A Hike - Yoga & Hike Day Retreat
Take a Hike – Crotty’s Lake, Comeragh Mountains
Sunday, April 6th – 10 AM
A day out in the mountains, fresh air, good company, and time to reset. We’re heading to Crotty’s Lake, a quiet mountain lake surrounded by cliffs and woodlands. It’s a proper adventure in the Comeragh Mountains!
This hidden gem is tucked between cliffs and feels like a secret world of its own.
What’s the plan?
Meet at 10 AM at the Comeragh Mountains car park, giving us a chance to meet and get set for the day.
• Outdoor Yoga on the hillside, taking in the views of the countryside stretching out before us.
• Guided Hike through the woodlands and mountain trails leading up to Crotty’s Lake.
• Lunch Stop by the Lake – time to eat, chat, and soak up the stillness of this hidden spot before setting off again
• Closing Meditation to connect back in and ground ourselves.
• A Surprise Stop on the way back, gathering around a campfire at a secluded location, where we’ll finish the day with tea, refreshments, and time to unwind.
A Bit About Crotty’s Lake
The lake is named after William Crotty, an 18th-century highwayman who made the Comeragh Mountains his hideout. He was known for robbing the rich and helping the poor. Stories say he even shod his horses backwards to throw off the authorities. He was eventually caught and executed, but legend has it his ghost still roams the mountains.
• Limited spots available – small group experience.
• Weather-dependent – we’ll keep an eye on the forecast.
A day to step away from the noise, breathe, and enjoy the mountains. If that sounds like something you’d be up for, grab your spot.
