She takes the time to ensure you have your positioning correct, and after that you are flying it. I never enjoyed any form of exercise, and now I can't bear to miss a class. I've also lost weight and improved muscle tone and general health. Most of all it is actually great fun with nice people in gorgeous places!"

As a complete newbie, and quite unfit, I was not sure how I'd get on starting yoga. I'm so thrilled I did! Grainne is fantastic- the perfect mix of ensuring you have the movement and breathing correct mixed with inspiring you to constantly improve your strength, flexibility and enjoyment of yoga. I'm already seeing positive results and I am hooked for life. She caters to all levels and capabilities in a really comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Not only is the class really beneficial for my physical health- you feel utterly fabulous after and find yourself looking forward to the next class. Grainne is also very approachable and thrilled to help you with any questions or limitations you may have. Her passion and love of yoga is evident and addictive, and I can't recommend her enough to anyone who is thinking about taking up this wonderful activity.

Gráinne is a wonderful yoga teacher. She is careful to explain each move, to break it down so that we fully understand what we are to do. She is careful to teach those of us who have injuries and underlying conditions, safe ways for us to increase our strength and flexibility. She helps us to get what we hope for from our training. I cant recommend Grainne highly enough, I love going to her classes. She has a professional approach with the ability to adjust all levels to different students needs in the class. I am recovering from major abdominal surgery and although I can do some things at a good level Grainne has helped me focus on a gentile approach to assist my recovery. She is a natural at this profession takes it all in her stride

Meet Grainne Ferreira

Yoga is a personal journey of self-development.
My name is Grainne. I began practicing yoga after several years of suffering from chronic back pain.
At one stage, I was so uncomfortable that I would have to hold on to something if I sneezed in the morning – the pain would vibrate though my body.
Eventually I made a decision; I was going to improve my quality of life by getting stronger and healthier. Yoga was at the core of this change. It didn’t happen overnight, but when I started to bring my practice into my everyday, I grew stronger and more flexible both on and off the mat.
Yoga inspired me to live in each moment and I reaped the benefits physically, but the true surprise was how it brought balance and calmness to my life. In the modern world we’re constantly on a treadmill, running from one thing to the other. We have very little time to connect within ourselves. Yoga allows you this precious time for yourself.
The more I practiced, the more I wanted to learn, which led me to Yoga Republic in Cork, where I completed my Yoga Alliance professional recognised teacher training course with Yoga Republic founder Sackies Skalkos. I will always be a student of the practice and I’m deeply grateful for the wisdom my teacher shared with me.
In my own classes, the primary focus is on the relationship between the breath, body and mind as one flows through the sequence of Asanas (poses). The breath is key. Each movement corresponds to an inhalation or an exhalation, bringing a powerful rhythm and grace to the class. The practice is strong and dynamic and is designed to improve alignment, awareness, strength, flexibility, increase stamina and can relieve stress and anxiety.
